Founded in 1993 by a group of English language providers interested in developing a quality marque which could offer diversity and choice. All member schools must be accredited by a Home Office recognised accreditation body. ABLS is attractive to small, private, family run type schools.

Special features:
- ABLS represents diversity and choice in English language provision.
- Members must be accredited and are expected to promote quality, professionalism and expertise in the provision of English language tuition and associated services.
- ABLS is currently the only association in the UK EFL Industry that specifically represents private sector providers.
- Members are encouraged to get involved, exchange information, share ideas and be supportive of each other.
